Samia Mahgoub

Samia Mahgoub's broad experience and commitment in the field of elections spans across a wide variety of countries in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, including the most recent posts in Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). She has extensive project and contract management experience and has planned and managed the development of projects in a variety of complex political environments. In Burundi, as Head of Operational Sector, she provided technical assistance oversight in all functions from planning, to implementation, to training, to reporting. As Election Coordinator in the DRC, she provided technical and logistical assistance to the Electoral Commission and assisted NGOs and other partners in developing civic education programs and gender and elections programs. She has considerable experience in managing teams of national and international experts while establishing links with local political parties and civil society leaders. Mahgoub has been an election observer in many elections, including those in Montenegro, Lebanon, Palestine and Mozambique.
Mahgoub has a Master's in Cooperation on Development, a DEA in Political Science and an additional Master's in International Relations from the University of Brussels. She also holds a degree in Languages (Interpretation) from Ain Chams University, Cairo. Mahgoub is fluent in French and Arabic.
